10/3 Event: Processing the recent hearings

Dear All,

The events of these last few days have been stressful, to say the least. I know that they have also been triggering for some of us, and continue to be so.

I find myself at a place where I oscillate between anger and feelings of extreme helplessness and grief as I relive events from my past.

I know I’m not the only one. I know there are colleagues and students who have gone through similar experiences who need support right now.

Karrin has given us permission to hold a college wide event in Theatre 2 on Wednesday, October 3rd to provide a safe space for faculty, staff, and maybe even some students, to get together and share and find support.

We will get together starting around 4:30 and stay until we need to.

This event is sponsored by the Academic Senate.  Come to seek or offer support to your friends and colleagues.

Thank you and let’s be there for each other,

Sangeeta K Bishop, Ph.D.

Chairperson, Academic Senate

Chairperson, Department of Social Sciences, Human Services & Criminal Justice
